The kings (lords) lived in the biggest houses on the manor. Their home was called the manor house which would usually be the castle. There would be little areas of land with smaller castles. These would belong to the knights (vassals). There would be smaller areas that belonged to the serfs (peasants). They would do all the work on the manor and provide for all the land.
Knights were hired by nobles and mostly were the noblemen sons. The peasants were also called "villeins" or servants. These would be different workers than the ones who worked in the fields. Tradesmen did most of the hard work also and got most of the supplies for the manor. The clergy would be the religious people and the ONLY people who could deal with anything in the church. Everyone would go to church on Sundays just like modern people today.
